Callum

Why don’t we see this in men’s magazines?

A bold, bright and colourful series of photographs that feature a young male model.

Taken in the third year of my degree, this photoshoot uses dramatic and obvious makeup to challenge the conventional stereotypes assigned to mainstream male fashion photography. Makeup can be used to mark significant moments - anything that has left a permanent mark on your consciousness.

As creative director and photographer for this shoot, I supervised a small team of makeup and hair artists who helped me to execute my artistic vision. As a third year student I was also able to mentor a first year student who worked as my assistant.

Following the shoot I edited and curated a series of images, which then formed an important part of my final year project. I am especially proud of the final result and that I was able to manage such a talented team of artist and models.
